Pastor Jeff Fillis, while working on staff as worship leader at the Orangewood Nazarene Church, felt God’s call to get out of the proverbial boat and to plant a church in the west valley of Phoenix. In the now, 19 years of ministry of Turning Leaf Church, pastor Jeff testifies of the miraculous provisions of God in both the church’s ability to build, but even more so in the lives of many who have found salvation, strength, healing and restoration through the work of Jesus Christ in their lives. JILL BESSE is passionate about encouraging women and helping them experience victory in Christ.  At age fifty-five, she survived a hemorrhagic stroke that nearly ended her life. Rebeccah Sinclair is wife to Joel and homeschool mom. Rebeccah comes from a large military family and met her husband Joel while serving. Dating through two deployments, they overcame many trials when military service took a turn and outcomes were not as planned for the two of them, requiring an examination of her own identity.

Joel Sinclair has a passion for worldview and biblical truth. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he earned a Masters of Christian Apologetics from Biola University & is currently pursuing a master’s in philosophy of religion. Joel has a passion for helping others understand God’s Word and respond to cultural lies.

Lee Patterson is a first generation American born in Queens, New York and is the oldest of four boys. After moving to Arizona, Lee attended The University of Arizona where God began to tug at his heart. After college, Lee had three kids [Tre (18), Nali (15), and Elias (13)]. Lee serves actively in ministry at Desert Springs Community Church.
